On an Island (of Samsara)
(I'm not trying to promote escapism, really I'm not! Sometimes though, it's fun to dream... A few years ago I was having a hard-ish time in school and this song just wrote itself, and who am I to look a gift song in the mouth? As I'm currently working on "being here now", I've changed the name of the song from the original "On an Island" to the title above.)
Chords: C+ A- F+ G+
On an island I could be so happy
On an island I could grow my veggies
I could read all my books
No more teachers' dirty looks
On an island I wouldn't be so busy
Wouldn't have to ask if you still missed me
We could play our guitars
We could lay and count the stars
On an island we might not be fucked up
There'd be nothing we'd have to suck up
Wouldn't feel like I didn't fit
Wouldn't feel like a pile of *!$%
Instrumental break
On an island life wouldn't be confusing
Everything would be so darn amusing
We would laugh all day long
Life would be just like this song
On my island there would be no sadness
No more tears and no more madness
I would play my guitar
I would lay and count the stars
On an island...
